30 weeks

This photo is actually 30 weeks and 1 day.

Overall I'm feeling pretty well. I bought the V2 supporter for my varicose veins and what a difference that made!

I've gained 23 pounds thus far. I'm hoping I'll still stay under 35 but we'll see. I have been enjoying dessert almost daily, which should stop, but it's oh so yummy. My goal is dessert only every other night.

I'm not going to lie, for the first several chapters of the book, I had to remember the story from the first and try not to confused it with Matched and Crossed, which are books in another series with very similar plot line.

I didn't quite enjoy this book as much as delirium, but I definitely still enjoyed it. I liked the new characters and watching Lena's character develop even more.

I did not like the ending. I was expecting it, but really, the very, very end? I'm not as anxious to see what the third book brings, but of course I'll read or listen to it when it comes out.

Our New Bathroom!!

In total, I think it took about 3 weeks to completely redo our bathroom. I cannot thank my dad enough for all of the hard work he did. We decided to use our funds to redo our bathroom instead of going on a babymoon, and I'm so glad we did. It is so nice walking into our new bathroom, having more storage space, and a bathtub that's not multi-colored. Unfortunately I lost my camera with all of the before pictures, but here are a few.

And here are pictures of the final product. We love it! We still have to decide on wall art, but that will come.





Bad Idea

Up until the past two weeks, I was pretty good about trying to workout about 2-3 times a week. However, even then sometimes it was just taking Winston on a walk. I really fell off the wagon the past two weeks. Today when I walked three flights in the garage and was out of breath, I knew I had to get back into a groove. Today I decided to not take Winston because I wanted to do a strong and fast walk. Yeah, bad idea. I can't go back and keep up with working out, but I now realize I can't expect myself to try to even power walk. I don't know if they were contractions I was feeling, but I definitely felt a strong twinge in my right lower side. I only walked for about 20 minutes and slowed down when I started feeling odd, but here on out, I'm not going to be super woman. I want to try to more active, but at a slow pace. Now I sit here with my feet up and drinking lots of water and the twinge is improving. I'm definitely going to try to take it easy tonight and only stick with some yoga for tomorrow morning.

The Dovekeepers

I really enjoyed this book. The story is told from the perspective of 3 women, each in a different stage of their lives. I loved hearing the story form these different perspectives and Hoffman did a wonderful job of giving each woman her own voice and personality. The character development was wonderful and I learned more about a war about which I knew nothing. Even if you do not enjoy historical fiction, but love strong female characters, I'd check this book out.

Pregnancy weight

I'm having a fat day. I know, I know, I'm pregnant. See the thing is, I'm 2 pounds away from my heaviest weight I was before my disordered eating and difficult teenage years. I always knew I'd see this number again when I was pregnant, but that still doesn't mean I like it.

I've also been craving lots of sweets. Towards the beginning of my pregnancy I was hardly gaining weight. The docs suggested I eat more often , and I did. Now I'm gaining weight too quickly. Overall I'm eating balanced, but I want dessert every night. That's what is hurting me, not my afternoon fruit.

Of course I know I'm growing a baby, but I also need to be healthier about it. If my current rate of weight gain keeps up, I'll be over the recommended 25-35 pounds. I'm hoping that admitting to the Internet world that I don't heed daily dessert will help me stop my daily dessert.
